Thanks for visiting – the title ‘lightly emplaced’ comes from melding a previous life as an academic geographer (that I have coined ‘ecological humanities’ given my research interests), some Earthly roaming and a desire to express the semiotics in what I see – the nature of ‘place’ and how connected we can be if so chosen.
The images are made on a variety of instruments – my first Nikon FE2 (and images scanned from FujiChrome transparencies), then a Nikon D90, a Wista 4*5 inch large format camera (Velvia transparencies drum-scanned), and recently a Hasselblad x2d. Many of the photographs were made on an Apple iPhone 13. (The caption of each large picture contains the camera type if that is of interest…)
